
Next goal: completion of the driver test vehicle
It was a great finish and on the morning of 16 January 2023 the result was clear: 759 investors have invested a total of 1,438,493 euros in TWIKE GmbH, thus providing a crucial part of the funds the company needs until the market launch of the TWIKE 5. The company can thus concentrate on the on the completion of the first prototypes.
Rosenthal, 24.01.2023 – “We are delighted about the positive response to our investment campaign via FunderNation and this enormous vote of confidence from investors,” says Martin Moescheid, founder and managing director of TWIKE GmbH, about the result of the public funding campaign.
With the funds collected via the FunderNation platform, TWIKE has secured around 70 percent of the interim financing requirement of 2 million euros. This money is needed to complete the development of the TWIKE 5. “That’s enough so that we don’t have to hit the brakes on our next steps towards market launch,” says Moescheid. At the same time, a gap of around 600,000 euros remains to ensure sufficient funding for the phase up to to have sufficient liquidity for the phase leading up to the production of the first prototypes.
More than 2,100 pre-orders for the TWIKE 5
More than 2,100 pre-orders have already been received for the pedal-assisted e-mobile developed in Northern Hesse, and around 230 interested parties have also paid a deposit for the TWIKE 5. In order to further build up the liquidity cushion, the quota of advance of advance payments is to be increased.
The innovative vehicle with human hybrid drive has a range of over 500 km with three wheels, a weight of 600 kg and space for two people plus luggage. Thanks to lightweight construction, efficient technology and sophisticated aerodynamics, the TWIKE 5 consumes the equivalent of 0.7 l/100 km, thus offering unprecedented efficiency in this performance class and contributing to more sustainable mobility.
Depending on battery power and equipment, the price ranges from 39,900 to 49,900 euros. The number of units of the model is limited to 500, the start of delivery is still ambitious.

“The trust placed in us is both an obligation and motivation – we are not standing still. Our developers are hard at work and we are making good progress,” says Martin Moescheid. The company’s goal is to complete the first prototypes in the coming months in the ambitiously short development process and to secure the production processes on this basis.
The test drives offered with the TWIKE 4 concept vehicle, for which appointments can be booked at the company’s headquarters in Rosenthal, already provide a real driving experience.
